“Hedy van Erp talks about researching archives, collecting photography and how she selects subjects for photo zines. Arjen Zwart talks about how he came up with the idea for Dog Food, the zine that in 12 years time evolved from an unknown and obscure photozine, printed in small editions, to a much sought after publication that is now presented in the MoMA in New York. Van Erp and Zwart explore the world of self-published zines, examining how these DIY publications are a powerful means of artistic freedom and expression.

They will look at the unique visual language that photozines offer, blending experimental design with intimate storytelling. The creative freedom the zines provide will be discussed, as well as how they may be funded. The talk also dives into the impact of photozines within the photography community, showing how they are a tool for sharing work outside of mainstream media and galleries”.

>The talk will be held with Turkish consecutive interpreting.

>The talk is open and free for everyone.
